Three months ago we had to move our passive node’s to a new DR site from where they were originally located. Recently we had to failover from the primary nodes so hardware maintenance could be done and we noticed that ActiveSync was not working, and we think it wasn’t tested once the passive nodes were moved to the new site.
Environment: We have two ISA 2006 servers on the front end that takes the requests for our OWA and Active Sync connections.
There are three CAS\HUB servers that sit behind the two ISA servers that take requests. Currently only one CAS server is active in the ISA configuration to take requests for OWA and Active Sync.
We have four Exchange 2007 CCR pairs that are in a stretched clustered configuration.
When all of the Exchange CCR roles are running at our production site ActiveSync and OWA work fine from the server that is active in the ISA configuration. Once we fail over to the passive node at the DR site ActiveSync stops working after 30 minutes. On the CAS server at the DR site I am able to get a successful response when I issue a Test_ActiveSyncConnectivity command but it only sees the MB servers that have moved to the DR site. When I issue the Test_ActiveSyncConnectivity cmd on the CAS server at the Production site it is unable to see the nodes that have moved over to the DR site.
Would anyone be able to share some knowledge with me on what I should look at to resolve this.
