Failed login attempts reached the threshold limit on ActiveSync device, but AD account not getting locked as per the GPO

Greetings,

Guys, I have encountered a ActiveSync issue.

I have changed the AD password of a account. Now, my ActiveSync device is prompting for new password.

It is continuously prompting for the password, I am able to see the failed login attempts on CAS server.

The count for failed login attempts has crossed the threshold limit configured as 10 in GPO. But, the AD account is not getting locked.

Also, if i see the ActiveSync policies "the failed login attempts" it is configured as 8. (This means the EAS account will be wiped on device after 8 login attempts)

And always the precedence is given to the stricter rule.

But, the account is not getting locked in AD.

Also, the account is getting locked if i try entering the wrong password in OWA.

So, I am wondering why its happening to EAS devices.

May be i am missing something ;)

Please provide your inputs to help me understand the reason.

Thanks in advance.
