Hi,
We are currently doing a proof of concept with ActiveSync. We get a successful test result using https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/. This works by entering the UPN (email address or domain\username) and the AD password. We have now moved onto testing the approved handsets. For iPhone, Android and Windows we can enter email address and password in the mail client and receive theactivesync settings.
But in the case of Windows Phone 8 there is a delay in receiving email. With the nativeiphone mail client and touchdown for Android email is received on the client device instantly. Performance is excellent, and TMG logging shows everything is working as expected. But with Windows Phone 8 (on Nokia Lumia 920) there is a delay of up to 10 minutes in receiving email and calendar updates. We wiped the test phone, have checked all settings to ensurepush is instant, but still a delay.
Has anyone encountered this? Nothing in the TMG or Exchange Logs to indicate a problem. Is there any logging we can do on the client device to see what might be happening? Or is there a way of checking the end-to-end lifecycle of a session using TMG that might help to explain. It has me confused! It is working, just not instant like on the other platforms.
Tested using wifi and mobile data. Same outcomes. Same account being used across all platforms. The phone meets the requirements in the ActiveSync policy.https connection at the TMG level is set to 30 minutes, with LDAP authentication taking place every five minutes.
Thanks.
