Mobile friendly external calendar site

Hello all. I enabled Internet Calendar Sharing, and it works great. My question is, is there a mobile friendly version setup possible? Right now from Android, I have to use Firefox in desktop site mode, and for iPhones, only Chrome in desktop site mode works. Default it gives and error, and Chrome on Android, nor Safari on iPhone work. I would really like to have some setup that works on all browsers, mobile or not. Is there something in IIS that can be setup? If this should be in the IIS forums, please let me know.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Exchange 2007 and 2013 Co-existnec - ActiveSync Issue

$

Hi

We have introduced Exchange 2013 servers in our existing Exchange 2007 environment. We have a customized Exchange 2007 ActiveSync setup i:e we created a custom separate website in IIS for ActiveSync to serve the ActiveSync devices. After the introduction of Exchange 2013 CAS servers, when we installed the new certificate on them and configured the virtual directory with ActiveSync URLs, the Exchange 2013 servers seems to be receiving Activesync requests but they can't just proxy it to Exchange 2007 for some reason. following Warning is logged on Exchange 2013 servers:

[Eas] Marking ClientAccess 2010 server MIA-EXCAS01.utg.uvn.net (https://mia-excas01.utg.uvn.net/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync) as unhealthy due to exception: System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable.

at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()

at Microsoft.Exchange.HttpProxy.ProtocolPingStrategyBase.Ping(Uri url)

We still need to install new Certificate on the Exchange 2007 servers. Wondering what could be the issue here, can Exchange 2013 proxy the connection to Exchange 2007 on a custom website ? or it looks for one under Default Website?

Can the absence of new certificate (meaning certificate mismatch) lead to this issue?

Thanks

ActiveSync proxy from 2013 (CU5) to 2010 not working with Client Certificate-based Authentication

Hello,

I am currently migrating from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 (CU5) and am encountering problems with the proxying of ActiveSync from 2013 to 2010.

Users who still have a mailbox on Exchange 2010 will receive an error that the server cannot be reached on their iPhones. We are using Client Certificate-based Authentication, which is working fine for users that have a mailbox on Exchange 2013.

We are using self-signed certificates and have made sure the root cert and client cert are on the phones with the iPhone Configuration Utility.
The iPhones are connecting to the Exchange 2013 CAS Servers from the Internet via a NAT rule on the firewall, which was used for the 2010 CAS servers before. We only changed the destination IP. It is not working on the LAN either.

All other Exchange services work fine. OWA via Exchange 2013 is running smoothly for users who are still on Exchange 2010.

I hope anyone can shed some light on this issue for me. I will gladly supply any further information needed.

Regards,
Arjan.

Did EAS Certificate Based Authentication Go Away With Exchange 2013?

I am not seeing any official Microsoft documentation anywhere referring to the procedure for setting up certificate based authentication for Exchange ActiveSync for Exchange 2013.  I only see references to Exchange 2010.

I also notice a link referring to troubleshooting certificate based authentication on Exchange 2013 has been removed by Microsoft:

support.microsoft.com/kb/2927355‎

Did they remove this feature in Exchange 2013?

The effect of activesync policy on the enduser

(this may be an already discussed topic, in that case feel free to answer with a hyperlink to another technet forum topic)

Dear all,

I am looking for a way to check the effects of an applied activesync policy on our mobile devices / tablets. I do not have any admin permissions on the Exchange environment, but I have to check and confirm what settings have been applied as the result of the Mobile policies set up in our Exchange 2010 environment.

Is there any way to check what system settings have been altered on WP8 phones and Windows 8 Pro / RT tablets?

ActiveSync Event ID 4023

Hello MS Community!

Running Exchange 2013 CU2 with all applicable patches.  Server has been in production for 2 month now.  Over the last couple of weeks Event ID 4023 started to appear in the Application Log.

Log Name:      Application
Source:        MSExchange ADAccess
Date:          11/18/2013 10:00:39 AM
Event ID:      4023
Task Category: General
Level:         Error
Keywords:      Classic
User:          N/A
Computer:      server.domain.loc
Description:
Process w3wp.exe (AirSync) (PID=3388). The budget for user 'DOMAIN\username_HTC188c824b2995ba5de8ef4a3ef73ae_htcvigor' is locked out until 11/20/2013 6:20:12 PM.  Max Burst: 240000, Recharge Rate: 360000, CutoffBalance: -600000

This is happening for iOS and Android users.  I reviewed both the Global Throttling Policy and Default Throttling Policy.  There are no other policies in place.   Global Policy is read only and can't be modified.  For Default policy I doubled the  EasCutoffBalance, EasMaxBurst, EasRechargeRate.  Restarted the Microsoft Exchange Throttling service.  Still the same issue.    Checking affected mailboxes with Get-MailBox shows no ThrottlingPolicy assigned, so default must be in effect.  So there are 2 questions:

1) Why is it happening all of a sudden?

2) Why modifications to the policy make no difference?

Thanks!

AD RMS 2012 Templates/Permissions [Option] is not visible at Outlook 2013 in Nokia Windows 8 Mobile Device

I have AD RMS 2012 Server, its working fine by applying restricted Templates/Permissions on OWA, Outlook & other MS Office Tools (Word Excel, PowerPoint). But the AD RMS Templates/Permissions [Option] is not visible at Outlook 2013 in Nokia Windows 8 Mobile Device.

Actually I would like to protect email with RMS templates (defined by me on AD RMS 2012 Server) but the [Permission] tab is not visible at Outlook 2013 in Nokia Windows 8 Mobile Device.

But I can do same with Android OS in Samsung Galaxy Mobile Device & I can see [Permission] tab as well to protect an email messages.

Any idea??

xchange 2013 Activesync not working receiving 401.1 in IIS logs ExRCA site test results are succesfull

Hi,

We currently have 2 servers on with Exchange 2010 and one with 2013 in a Coexistence config, so far most things seem to work except Activesync.

The problem arises when I try to connect a new device to an account with a mailbox on the new server, I can see that the device gets neglected with the following error in IIS logs SAMSUNG-GT-I9300/101.403 - 401 1 1326 265

My current settings on the respective server can be summarized to the following:

2010 CAS:

InternalUrl                                : https://webmail.mydomainname.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync

ExternalUrl

BasicAuthEnabled                           : True
WindowsAuthEnabled                         : False

2013 CAS

InternalUrl                                : https://webmail.mydomainname.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync

ExternalUrl     : https://webmail.mydomainname.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync

BasicAuthEnabled                           : True
WindowsAuthEnabled                         : False

Owa is working properly for all mailboxes and outlook is working almost perfect, except that the users need to fill in credentials once after mailboxes have been migrated to the 2013 server (NTLM is configured for both internal and external clients) and CAS 2010 have basic and NTLM under IISAuthenticationMethods)

I have run both the Exchange Activesync and Exchange activeync autodiscover tests witht the ExRCA and both test succeds and I can see succesfull connection attempts in the IIS log.

I would really appreciate some troubleshooting tips and tricks,

BRgds

Certificate and Active Directory Authentication

$

I'm looking for a method of adding additional security to my company's exchange server, and so far I've found certificate authentication would be the best.

However, from my research it appears that certificate authentication is designed to replace password authentication, If that is correct can Exchange be configured to authenticate both?

Thanks

READ Flag synchronization on multiple devices not working well

Hi, I have a question.

A director of my client is using MacBook pro & Ipad, as well as 2 desktops each at office & home.

The READ Status is not synchronised properly. the number of UNREAD msg on different can differ from 200 - 800. For Example he may have read some message on IPAD but when he reaches office, the messages may reflect UNREAD. We are  not talking about few messages, we are talking about Hundreds of Messages reflected wrongly...  He is using Outlook 2007 for all devices though except IPAD, is it due to Outlook version? or it is due to account problem?

Appreciate your help. Thank you.

ActiveSync TMG replacement

$

I know this has been asked before, like here.

I have lately been getting activeSync Heartbeat warning from our 2010 Exchange server. I usual task is to try and make our servers run as smooth as possible, ensure all systems are updates, and run everything to as close as possible to best practices.

Now, couple things to note. We run a pretty tight infrastructure, and activeSync isn't the only service being handled by our TMG server. Below is a very basic idea of how activeSync flows.

Palo Alto --> TMG --> Exchange

So, either I take the time to investigate the Web Publishing  rule and all on the TMG (It seems is setup correct according tothis, or It's something on the Palo Alto, Would have to create a fourm on their support site in suggestions.

But what would that help if the TMG will need to replaced once it's not support and EOL.

So now the question becomes, can the PA take over all the tasks the TMG did, or should we still invest into UAG server to replace the TMG? and has anyone documented the steps in doing so? migrate rules, objects, etc?

Polycom phone won't connect to Exchange Online

Having an issue with Polycom CX600 connecting to EWS.  Lync 2010 on-prem, Exchange Online.  All Lync and Exchange functions working normally (Lync 2010 client, Outlook 2010, calendar, UM) all good.  CX600 gives error "Microsoft Exchange integration unavailable" and "Connection to Exchange is unavailable due to invalid network credentials".  I have updated to code level 4.0.7577.4450.  DNS records (autodiscover.domain.com) and SRV (_autodiscover._tcp.domain.com) point to autodiscover.outlook.com.  Reset phone to defaults, re-provisioned using USB cable.  Credentials entered in UPN format.  Fails with both 2010 client on desktop and 2013 client.  Lync client can access history, Voice Mail, Calendar (2013) so no problem for client.

Ideas?

Error 85010014 after upgrading to Windows Phone 8.1

Exchange 2013: Two servers (Mailbox and CAS). Up to date as of August 1, 2014.

Windows Phones: Nokia Lumia 625 and Nokia Lumia 1020 running Windows Phone 8 GDR3 and Windows Phone 8.1.

Users started receivinig error 85010014 after their mailbox was migrated from Exchange 2007 to 2013. After a lot of investigation, we ended up figuring out that performing an IISRESET on both Exchange servers resolved the problem. We thought the issue was resolved.

However many of our users are upgrading to Windows Phone 8.1. After WP8.1 is applied, they start receiving error 85010014 again.

We’ve tried performing the following on the phone to resolve the issue – nothing worked:

  • Manual sync.
  • Rebooting the phone.
  • Removing the account and re-adding it.
  • Deselecting items to sync within the Graybarcanada account.
  • Checking for calendar entries which are marked as “Working Elsewhere” (apparently not supported in some ActiveSync cases).

Nothing resolves the issue until I perform an iisreset on the mailbox and CAS servers. However performing an iisreset bumps everyone off the Exchange server. The majority of users reconnect within a minute or two. But for some it could take up to 5 minutes before they will reconnect again. And in rare cases they have to close and re-open Outlook. It’s not an acceptable solution.

I believe this is an issue with Exchange 2013, not Windows Phone. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Exchange CU5 - Windows Phone 7.8

Hello,

After updating to CU5, Windows Phone 7.8 can't sync anymore to Exchange. ActiveSync is indeed activated. Two kind of errors are reported: 85002028 (it says that Windows Phone is not compatible with this server version) or mail.rabate.fr configuration has a problem (error code 85010004). Same problem with iOS 7.

Any idea on this?

Update

I should have said that Exchange ActiveSync and autodiscovery tests pass (provide that SSL check is deactivated, we have our own PKI)

Thank you
