Exchange 2003 migrate to Exchange 2010 - single forest multiple domain. Active Sync problem

$

Hi All,

I have AD single forest and multiple domain. for example, the forest domain is jakarta.co.id, and the other domain is bali.co.id.

Exchange 2003 deployed in jakarta.co.id, User mail enabled in domain jakarta.co.id and bali.co.id.

Then, I upgrade to Exchange 2010 (deploy in jakarta.co.id) and move mailbox from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010.

All users in bali.co.id are able to access email from Owa, BlackBerry (BIS), Outlook, but cannot access from Android, Windows Phone. (Active-Sync).

I got error information generated from https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com, as following:

Attempting the FolderSync command on the Exchange ActiveSync session.
The test of the FolderSync command failed.
Tell me more about this issue and how to resolve it

Additional Details

Exchange ActiveSync returned an HTTP 500 response (Internal Server Error).

Active-Sync still not work even I check option "Include inheritable permissions from this object" in security tab.

any idea to fix this issue?

Thanks.

Accessing a shared mailbox with ActiveSync?

$

I would like to setup access a shared mailbox via ActiveSync by multiple users.  Shared mailboxes have disabled user objects by default and I don't want the users to have to share a password for the shared mailbox.  So I attempted to grant the users full access to the mailbox to see if they could log into the account using their own credentials via ActiveSync, like in Outlook.   After configuring the phone with the shared mailbox e-mail address and the user's (who has full access) ID and password the user's mailbox is coming up, not the shared mailbox.

I know I can enable the AD object and have the user's share the password.  Are there any other options?  If I enable the account does that then require a user license?  I'm assuming that's why it gets disabled.

Thoughts?

Using Hosted Exchange Account for Tasks and Calendar incl Outlook.com

$

I've got several calendars setup on Outlook.com. I am using Outlook 2013 on the desktop.  I've found that the access to my task lists via outlook.com is extremely rudimentary, almost useless.  I run Android based tablets and phone.  There is not Outlook app for my phone - the only solution is the web-based version of Outlook which requires an Exchange Server.  I host my email on my own server (not using Exchange) and access it via IMAP. There's also some other collaboration features in Outlook I can't use since I'm using outlook.com (ActiveSync) and IMAP accounts.  My outlook.com address is the same as my own domain's e-mail address - I just use it for Calendar and Contacts obviously since I don't have an organizational account on Outlook.com and have pointed my domain's mail server address to it.

Could I not just sign-up for a $4/month hosted Exchange account?  I know I can do this with Microsoft, but do I need to setup an organization account with one of the domains I own to do it or can I get assigned an email address to use (I wouldn't use the email portion, just calendar and tasks.)  I guess the other way would be to buy an Exchange account from a third party like mail2web.com.

If I start using the web-based Outlook, can I still view and modify my calendars on my outlook.com account from within the full features outlook web app? (I would think so.)

--edit--

At least I found the answer to the domain issue.

"Office 365 Small Business creates a domain for you when you sign up with the services (the domain name includes .onmicrosoft.com)"

Need help accessing my outlook 365 account from multi device

Hi,

Unfortunately I am very tech un-savvy and will probably need this explained to me in the most simplest of ways.

I currently use MS outlook 365 for my emails, contacts, calendar and tasks. This contains all the info i need to conduct my work. I would like to be able to access the same information from my android phone and tablet. However I cannot find a way to sync this info between the devices effectively. Most likely user error.

I am using samsung Keis to sync via usb at the moment but this comes with issues if I try to maniplute the info on one device and then sync back to the pc or laptop. In some cases deleting all the date.

I have been advised to set up my outlook as and exchange account rather than the pop 3 that it currently is. I would just like to know the best way to go about it so I do not loose all my tasks, calendar entries email setting and contact details.

On my samsung devices I use s-calendar which seem to be ok for my purpose re my task and calendar, but if there is something better or an easier way to sync. I would love to hear about it.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jason

Published Calendar

Hello,

there seems to be a problem with the Published Calendar funktion in Exchange 2010. Wenn I publish my calendar over the OWA Site and import the published calendar ics File (lets say in my iphone), I have some problems with the recurring Meetings-Appointments.

If a recurring meeting is changed (not the whole series), I see both meeting instances (original an changed) in the published calendar. We use only the OWA and not Oulook, so there is no other way to export our calendars.

Our Exchange Server is 2010 with SP3.

Is there a way to correct this problem?

Kind Regards

Ioannis

Hi

Ive installed exchange 2013 in my domain where exchange 2007 is installed. The servers can see each other and mailbox migration works.

The problems im having is with owa, outlook and activesync. When going (internally) to exchange2013/owa site and login in with a user thats on 2007 i have to log in twice, once on each owa site. I belive that the same will happen with activesync and thus not work?

the users ive move to exchange 2013 are getting promted to type in user and pass every time!

my setup is exchange 2007 sp3 ru11 and exchange 2013 without any cu

thanks for the help

note 3 not syncing contacts

I just activated my new Samsung note 3, about a week ago anyway.

I setup my work exchange account and emails and the calendar synced without issue, but no contacts. yes, the contacts is checked to sync.

all contacts are marked to display as well. when I begin to compose an email, contact are auto filling so they seem to be on the phone but not displaying.

when someone calls or texts, only the phone number is displayed.

 anyone run into this?

I've deleted and added the account several times with the same result. talked to Verizon tier 3 tech support and they couldn't help either.

Resource Delegates get meeting with incorrect meeting time... UTC time is used

We have a couple resource mailboxes that delegates are notified anytime they are booked automatically. That automatic email that is sent out from the resource shows the correct meeting time in outlook 2010 and OWA... But that same email when received on a mobile device shows UTC time. Has anyone ever experienced this, or know of a fix?

Thank you

Exchange ActiveSync Error

Hello,

WE have Exchange 2010 running in a DAG and everything has been working fine. We have 2 Sites 2CAS and 2Mbox in each site. For some reason when I try and activate a new device from Site2 I receive and error on the CAS server in Site1 which states;

The Client Access server doesn't have the InternalURL value set for the Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync virtual directory. This prevents Exchange ServiceDiscovery from finding the MobileSyncService information for user SERVERMBOX02.domain.com. At least one Client Access server in the user's mailbox Active Directory site must have the InternalURL value set. The format for the InternalURL value is https://hostname/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync

When I check the ActiveSync settings they are all set. I am only having this issue on adding a user that has a mailbox in Site2, if I try with a user in Site1 I dont have this problem. Does anyone have any suggestion on what might be causing the problem?

Thanks,

Gavin

Active Sync - No data displayed in Outlook 2013

Hello,

We are currently developing Active Sync support for SOGo (www.sogo.nu). Everything works well with Android and iOS based devices but Outlook 2013 doesn't work.

The FolderSync command works well, but the initial Sync request seems to be ignored by Outlook, as it keeps sending it over and over. Here is the initial FolderSync response:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE ActiveSync PUBLIC "-//MICROSOFT//DTD ActiveSync//EN" "http://www.microsoft.com/">

As you can see, there are 2 mails, 1 event and 1 contact.

Can anyone tell me what could be wrong in our response which could lead Outlook 2013 to reject it?

Thanks,

Windows Phone (7/8) keeps requesting password

What gets me is that in one Case it only happes sporadically and only when the sync is started manually. With the other user it happens all the time.

I tried the ActiveSync logs, but could find anything out of the ordinary. Even TMG doesn't Show me any Errors.

Any ideas where I should look next?

Regards,

Gerrit Deike

Exchange ActiveSync during co-exsistance

Hello Everyone,

We currently have Exchange 2007 in place and are going to install Exchange 2013 using IIS ARR as reverse proxy and load balancing. One concern we have is how the co-existence will effect ActiveSync users. Once we change our NAT entry for Autodiscover to point to Exchange 2013 sever and change our DNS entries how will ActiveSync users mobile devices accept the change? Will they re-poll Autodiscover and get the new configuration or will they need to remove the account and re-add it?

Thanks for any information you can provide,

Ian...

View Telephone numbers for Distribution group in Activesync 2013

When searching our GAL in ActiveSync, either on a phone or OWA, I would like to be able to view additional details that have been put into the Distribution Group Objects in AD.

I already know how to change the detail templates in Exchange: for example: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/2f550d2d-c61c-45c7-942d-9f72e43a9774/distribution-security-group-telephone-numbers?forum=exchange2010

Also, I know how to use ASDI edit or even edit the object using ADUC.

When I search for the Distro Group in Outlook, the telelphone number shows in the additional details I have added using the detail templates, but when searched using ActiveSync or OWA, no phone numbers appear.

Anyone have any ideas?

How to filter out inbound Read receipts but prevent prevent notification to sender

Greetings,

For Exchange 2007, we would like to prevent external users from sending Read Receipt requests to our users.  In the Outlook client, we can easily disable this.  But for EAS users, their smartphones send a reply as soon as the email is opened.  I've applied a Hub Transport rule to strip out the "Disposition-Notification-To" from inbound emails but this causes a different message to be sent to the sender, "Delivery to these recipients or distribution lists is complete, but delivery notification was not sent by the destination:".   As a test, I've now also unchecked "Allow Delivery Reports" for Remote domains, but will this work?  Should both settings be applied to avoid generating the response to senders as noted previously?

Thanks

Exchange 2013 ActiveSync not working

Hello everyone,

We seem to be having problems with our ActiveSync not working anymore. Users with mobile devices can not access their mailboxes. We have checked just about every setting and the IIS logs and can't find an answer to this issue. Microsoft's Remote Connectivity Analyzer shows the following error which we can not find an answer for anywhere.

An ActiveSync session is being attempted with the server.
Errors were encountered while testing the Exchange ActiveSync session.

    Test Steps

Attempting to send the OPTIONS command to the server.
Testing of the OPTIONS command failed. For more information, see Additional Details.

    Additional Details
A Web exception occurred because an HTTP 400 - BadRequest response was received from IIS7.

Thanks!

Using IIS ARR as Reverse Proxy for Exchange 2013 and Lync 2013

I have set up IIS ARR for use with Lync 2013 and Exchange 2013.

Lync 2013 is working fine.

I have tried to follow the Exchange server blog about configuring IISARR for Ex2013 (http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2013/07/19/reverse-proxy-for-exchange-server-2013-using-iis-arr-part-1.aspx).  I get a 404 not found error when running OWA from external and acive sync fails.  remote connectivity Analyzer doesn't help either.

In the blog it has the URL rewrite as Match URL using Widlcards with a PAttern of * and then an {HTTP_Host} condition of mail.tailspintoys.com

Is this correct?  should it be mail.tailspintoys.com/*

I have created 2 farms and iurl rerwrties, one for Autodiscover and one for Mail.

Any ideas?  thanks.

Active Sync not Working - Exchange 2013 with Exchange 2007

Hi

Recently we introduced Exchange 2013 servers to our existing Exchange 2007 organization. The servers are just configured with default self-signed certificate and URLs are pointing to server FQDNs. Everything is at default as far as configuration is concerned in Exchange 2013.

After just introducing the Exchange 2013 CAS servers was checking the ActiveSync functionality using a new mailbox created on Exchange 2013. We have not yet published our Exchange 2013 servers to Internet (before even doing that, want to ensure ActiveSync is working). We're connecting using our Private network and trying to make a connection to CAS FQDN. Checked a iOS7 (iPad) and a Windows Phone device, both of them configure successfully (with the certificate warning, which is obvious) but when it comes to synchronizing the contents they fail saying "Cannot Get Mail. Connection to Server Failed"

Checked the IIS Logs on CAS server and found that the device makes a successful connection - as is indicated by successful configuration but thereafter nothing happnes on the device and no error logged in Event Viewer as well. Could it be that the mailbox server is denying the connection....how to check. How to go ahead with the troubleshooting.

Everything else expect ActiveSync is working perfectly. Tries accessing the ActiveSync VD using the linkHTTPS://Server_FQDN/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync, this pops-up a window asking for credentials – which is normal behavior indicating ActiveSync virtual directory is good.

Thanks

Exchange Server 2003 :: ActiveSync :: Unable to send out attachments

Hi All,

I am facing a weird issue with SBS 2003 (windows server 2003 sp2 with microsoft exchange 2003 sp2) Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. ActiveSync users are able to configure the devices just fine, send and receive email fine as well but when they try to send any attachment the email will stay in the outbox.

So far i have tried the following fixes

made sure the permissions on the exchange vdirs and activesync vdir are correct

c:\windows\temp and %temp% location has read/write access to authenticated users

uploadreadaheadsize (thru adsutil.vbs) and messagesizelimit for oma reg key are bumped up (20MB each)

testremoteexchange connectivity analyzer shows all green

Now, if i make user the member of administrators group and try to send an email with attachment (i am sending a screenshot of 2.3mb) it goes out fine.

IIS logs shows HttpServerStatusError 500used logparserstudio to parse the iis file

 cs-usernamecs-uri-stemHTTPstatusw3-status-details
 domain\testas/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync500HttpStatusServerError

any pointers how this issue can be dealt with and resolved, will be appreciated.

Nav

Address Book Contacts (Mobile) on iPhone

Hi, I am searching for the answer a VP has regarding his address book in Outlook and his iPhone.  When I look under Contacts on the iPhone, I see our company name and three lists: All CompanyXYZ, Contacts, andSuggested Contacts.

In Outlook 2010 (Exchange 2010 SP1) under address book he sees the GAL but he also sees something entitled "Contacts (Mobile) -email address".  It is this mobile contacts list he wants on his iPhone.

I am trying to figure out whether and how that Contacts (Mobile) list can be sent to his iPhone.  Would someone please help and/or point me in the right direction if it can be done?  Do I need Lync?

Thank you,

Greg
